City advises of temporary water supply disruption to Monwabisi Park Informal Settlement in Khayelitsha

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be doing a water supply infrastructure upgrade to the Monwabisi Park Informal Settlement in Khayelitsha on Monday 18 January and Tuesday 19 January. This will result in the temporary disruption of the water supply to the area on these days from 10:00 until 14:00.

The work involves the installation of three new 110mm diameter valves which will form part of the new reticulation network for the area. Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean sealed containers for use during these periods and ensure that their taps are closed to prevent water wastage or loss when the supply is restored.

A water tanker will be roaming through the area to provide water where required for domestic use.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative to enhance water supply infrastructure for the benefit of its residents.
